A friend from the local Chrysler Club will soon be selling a couple of C-bodies, including this gorgeous New Yorker. What do you think a fair price for this is?

Here is the car's story:

We purchased our 1971 Chrysler New Yorker 4 DR HT in December 1976. It is a real beauty with green paint, Amber Sherwood Metallic, and green cloth seats. Our three sons were then teen agers and we needed a larger family car for family trips. We loved the styling, large trunk and the smooth ride. It has plenty of power with its 440 engine. Today, the Chrysler still looks like new and is still all original. We drove it on many trips to California, South Dakota and Yellowstone Park. This summer we drove it to the WPC Regional meet in Parksville, BC on Vancouver Island. We had a lot of comments from people who said “my grandfather had one like this”. It is truly a fun car to drive.

Beautiful car but are you sure it is Amber Sherwood? In the pics it looks pretty close to April Green Metallic like our 71 300.

I'm not sure, but they have had it since 1976 so I tend to think it is correct. It has 160,000 miles, btw. Any thoughts on value?

Here is the other one they plan to sell:

"We had one 1965 Imperial Crown Coupe in 1990 and had an opportunity to get another in March 1990 with 66,621 original miles from the original owner’s family. The color is Spanish Red Poly with a Black Vinyl roof. The interior has red leather seats and red carpets. It is a real eye catcher wherever we go. It has been entered in many local and National WPC car events including Victoria, BC in June 2003. Elwood P. Engel designed the 1964 to 1966 Imperials with his classic “square” design. They are beautifully proportioned and quietly elegant. The quality of the Imperials is overwhelming. Our Imperial is original and has 69,222 miles. We enjoy driving it on Club activities."

Hmmm, how about $500.00 and you ship it to Toronto, Canada? :rofl:Wish I could help on a value but I'm more familiar with A-Bodies at the moment. I want a C-Body one of these days so I like to get onto this website to learn. The 71 300 I was referring to was our family ride when I was a kid. That Imperial is really nice, too.

I'll drive a 71 C in that green color:) I love that color especially with the green vinyl roof. I remember a lot NYers, Fury's and Monacos in several shades of late 60s early 70s green and my mom called them all avocado green. It was a really popular color for cars and for kitchen appliances back then. Nowadays it's mostly boring white appliances.

Oh look at that, I didn't notice it before but now I see it. Looks like the entire rear driver's side fender is a repaint (and surely not a good match). Why then does the description say "it's still all original"?

It has not been sold or placed on the market yet. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry. I'll post again when he gets more serious and inquire about the paint.
I will check.

My Grandmother's kitchen appliances were that Avocado Green!
