Not mine. For sale on FB in Cortland (south of Syracuse), NY. To my eyes, DL23G2F116721 looks pretty much like a running time capsule (save for a dent in the rear bumper). She sports a GY8 gold livery, B2F6 green vinyl interior (no rips or tears that I can see), and V1X black vinyl roof.

Contact info is in the ad, which states: "Sold new by a dealer friend of the owner who bought it back and then this seller purchased it. NO rain, snow, soft spots, rust. OEM paint, interior and more. She is ORIGINAL and a SURVIVOR. Last year.. he wanted 12k... now.. BEST CASH OFFER... will own it."

I drive through Courtland often...but not as of late due to the border closing..ugh.
Nice cars! and I luuv GY8.
Bare bones car..2 speed wipers, manual drum brakes,no air conditioning.
Price is a bit rich for me considering the weak CDN dollar.

Also has the tiny 19 inch rad same as our 69 Fury.
I am wondering if this is adequate enough to keep the 'teen cool??
Looks like a 22 inch will bolt right in

On Poppy, I have the same setup (318, 19" radiator -- original recored). I considered the same thing: good luck finding a 22" rad. After experiencing heating issues last summer on the way back from Carlisle, I bit the bullet and made the only mod I've made to the car: I added the big shroud and fan from a '72 Fury. Problem solved it seems (though I have not yet tried the car in stop-and-go, 100-degree traffic).

I am seriously considreing aluminum rad. I have 22" one in the Waygun and works very well.

I meant that i could not find a 1970 22” rad that would have looked "period." My 1970 G-code Polara's rad opening has an extra 3”, so a 22” should fit; the same seems true of this 1972. That’s why I looked into a 22-incher back in 2018. I did not look for an aluminum one, though, because looks.

I would want to see the front valence to determine just how good this car really is (just kidding since it obviously is well cared for).

Those front valences were plastic two piece affairs that were a mess waiting to happen. Very few are still intact nor can you find one generally that is any good. The photos here seem to avoid showing that area of the car though. Worth checking it out with the seller IMO.

Looks to have an aftermarket master cylinder. Also note the rubber splash panel on the top of the hood appears to have gold over spray from a repaint, could also be rust from an over heating radiator? Common on 19" units.

nice car but I would want a bigger engine.
And another colour outside. And inside.

I am out

Go to the facebook ad, there is a group of photos, one with the inside of the hood open. The rubber panel on the nose of the hood is discolored.

OK, I make sure I am not on Facebook, so that is why I can't see it then.

Thanks

That hood seal appears to just have accumulated dirt on it, not repainted. The hood itself doesn't look repainted either to me.

I've never seen a real deal car come through here without guys finding fault with it.

I just thought is was odd the "dirt" is the same color (about) as the car. This is nice, well preserved example. Not a color combo I care for, but when dealing with classics, what you see is what you get.

The formulation of rubber that Chrysler used for those hood seals can often get a brownish film on it over time, and that's what you are seeing in the photo.

You see a lot of Mopar hoods that are surface rusted on the bottom side because the paint is so thin. It's certainly not the case on this car. Somebody really plastered on a nice thick coat when this car came down the line. Paint was almost dripping off the front bracing. I wish that guy was working when some of my cars were built. He would have saved me a lot of work sandblasting off surface rust.

I used to own a 72 Polara Custom 2 door. It had a 360 and a/c. I loved that car - very lively and I liked the way it looked. If mine had been in this condition, I would still have it.
I don't even mind the colors all that much since I do like the color gold on a vehicle. But I would want more options than this one had. But it seems to me to be a very good, well preserved vehicle that I wouldn't hesitate to consider if those options (or lack of them) can be overlooked. Cars like this do not come along that often. Very well preserved.

The front end on these is weird and cool at the same time. This is one of the cars that transports me back in time whenever I see one. Way back when I was shopping for my first car, I looked at a black '72 Polara 4dr HT for sale. It looked ok from the road, but turned out to be really beat up so it wasn't worth even considering. It would have only been 10 years old at the time.

I have a sad story on those front valences. There was a turquoise 4dr in a junkyard near me with less than 50K on the clock that had a perfect valence. The valence was on my shopping list for my next trip to the yard. Before I got there they moved a bunch of cars around, including the Polara and destroyed the valence in the process. They were one of the only yards that didn't have a front end loader to move cars around with. The cars were originally dropped off in the yard with a tow truck back in the late 70's to early 80's. Nothing was moved or crushed until the mid 90's when they needed to raise some fast cash to catch up on overdue taxes. They used a backhoe and a bulldozer to move things around and just about anything that got moved got some kind of damage done to it. The yard was mainly concerned with selling mechanical parts and didn't pay much heed to body panels, though by then, mostly every panel on every car was rusted with the exception of some hoods and trunk lids.
