I like it in spite of the front end.

Dental floss. Loop it around the back of the letters and "saw" them off. You may have some residue left, but that should take it off with no damage to the woodgrain.

3M adhesive cleaner is a gentle solvent which works very well for removing sticker goo. As with any chemical, test in an inconspicuous spot, if there is one.

It's just a little drive, it's worth it. :poke:
When we leaving??? You drive and I'll sleep...hahaha!!!
I made a trip to Colorado already this year, then to Battle Lake, MN....don't think I'm heading east anytime soon!!

I'll need to swing through Indy in a few months...

9-7-18 FURY on woodgrain, Letters remove
· Letters: remove with unwaxed dental floss
· Adhesive: remove with Goo Gone
· Whole job probably took 15 minutes and 10 minutes of that was finding supplies and figuring out what I did with the Goo Gone. Spent months wondering how to do the job. This is the one time I’m thankful for cheap parts, especially cheap adhesive. Thanks everybody for your help. @Big_John, @Newport 66, @73Coupe

After (Dash is dark gold. Sorry my phone camera keeps turning dark gold into green. Not sure how to fix that.)

Won't ever be able to look at it the same again! Must feel like a new car!

Think we are in the minority. Always loved that face.
Me too! My parents came SO CLOSE to buying one, then came home with a 4-door Maverick instead. WHAT????

I do love that front end, and I equally HATED the '72 grill. I've had friends who owned '72s, so now I've just told them the truth. Uh-oh!

I really like the 69-72's better but I really like this one and have the cash. Not only that but my insurance company is now trying to weasel (over 150K in ICU bils from heart failure and near death in July) out of paying my medical bills so maybe I need to spend what I have now so I can't be sued later...

I love the '69-71s, just not the '72 grill. Don't like the front of a '72 Dodge either, but that Fury grill, with the split grill and covered lights, love that one! Don't know if that is '73 only; my parents were looking at one of those too!
