Why do they always say that? Looks to still have the Lean Burn on it which is probably full of rodent droppings.

Not to mention complete brakes, hoses, belts, fuel system, A/C rebuild etc. Looking at probably $3.5k just to get it road worthy before we start talking about stuck power windows etc.

Agreed, along with, "Will run 70 MPH all day." As if they weren't meant to when built.

For me, my repeated question is, "Why do people let cars sit?? If you're done with it, sell it to someone who can use it while it still runs!!"

Exactly. Especially when you're gonna just let it sit on dirt.
I like when you offer a guy money on a car and it's "not for sale." 20 years later it's halfway in the ground surrounded by weeds. REALLY?

You just gotta look at it through the right light -- every one that dies just makes yours more valuable!

IF they sell the parts. Frustrating when they just can't let it go so someone could do something with it.

Still a shame though. I knew a guy who had every car he ever owned, lined up in his driveway. There was a '49 DeSoto, behind it a '61 Newport, and behind it a '73 Dart. Yep, every twelve years he would buy a new car. I offered him money for the '61; it fell on deaf ears. Why??? He wasn't going to do anything with it and it was just rotting away. When he died the family sold them all. The '61 was offered to me but at a ridiculous price. Someone bought it....

I agree, I hate too see them go as much as the next guy, just trying to find a positive. Shame you didn't get that 61, would have been awesome!

This car was for sale a few yrs back.. I spoke with the owner back then.. it’s a parts car at best due to the condition at which it was stored and left in.. the amount of money it would take to bring it back is $$$$$$.. IMO
