1964 Chrysler 300K
This 1964 Chrysler 300K was sold new in California and is powered by a 413ci V8 backed by a TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The previous owner purchased the car in Hollister in 1990 with a replacement 440ci V8, but was able to locate the believed-original engine along with other factory parts. It was eventually refurbished with an engine rebuild and a repaint. The car was sold and transported to Pennsylvania and repainted a second time. Air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power seats, and an AM/FM radio were factory equipment. The interior has been refurbished, and the seller notes a slight separation on the corner of the drivers seat as seen in the video below. All equipment is said to be functional except the clock, and the radio is described as requiring some time to warm up. The front passenger bucket seat has a reclining function, a feature indicated by original advertising material below. The 65,965 indicated miles are believed correct.
The Pearl White vinyl upholstery was redone by a previous owner, likely in the late 1990s. The rear bench cushions look to have held their shape, and lap belts are equipped.
The factory 413ci wedge-head V8 had been replaced by a 440 at some point, though it was located with a spun bearing and rebuilt in 1991. Shifting is handled by a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, which was rebuilt in 1990. While in the seller’s possession, the carburetor has been rebuilt, the fuel system cleaned, and brakes and suspension checked. The idler arm was replaced and the engine bay detailed prior to sale. Mechanical restoration work performed in the 1990s is detailed in a history shown in the gallery. The car receives twice-yearly oil changes with Mobil One synthetic oil, and will be serviced prior to delivery.
