I smell a rat here. I know the plates are different, but look at all of the similarities in these two, including the wording of the ad. The first of each pair of pictures is from the CL ad the second is from a just expired Ebay auction.

About this vehicle
This 1968 Chrysler Newport is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great.
Seller's Notes
1968 Chrysler Newport all original. car is in excellent condition 9,5 from 10. Everything works 100%. 318 8 cylinders engine start and work like new with only 34k original milage and automatic transmission. interior is beautiful only one small stitch need be fix on driver seat. all gauges and interior lights work 100%.

Both the Craigslist and the E Bay auction were posted about the same time so that tells me it's the same seller. Problem is the CL ad says Brooklyn and the E Bay ad says Monroe NY. They are almost an hour apart so I'm not sure. The car is defiantly in two different locations.

He thinks it’s a 318 in the ebay listing.:wtf:

Lose those rear bumper guards. They should be on the front of a police car as push bumpers. Great color combo and body style though.

Well, it DOES seem to be a nice, clean '68 Newport; bad spelling/grammar/high price aside...…. The different NY plates sure is strange, and it sure is rust-free for what seems to be a native NYC area car...…. the bumper guards are understandable for a metropolitan area car...….

The 4-door hardtops had a great look in '68, especially in this silver/black combination. Hope it finds a good home.....

Honestly I understand the car is a presumed survivor but the price is a bit steep for a 4-door. I'm thinking maybe $11-12,000

FWIW, NY didn't issue titles for cars until 1973 MY. Even now you get a transferrable registration.

Peek-a-boo...Has the optional clock but...
Manual outside mirror--not remote.
Don't see that very often....

Well considering the first seller had the wrong engine, the second one doesn't smell right. I would offer him $10,000.00 and shoe him th Ebay ad.
