The engine is finished and here are the results. 440 stroked to 505, Edelbrock Performer Manifold, Liberty Crankshaft, Icon Forged Pistons, Lunati Voodoo Cam .494/.513, 9.8 - 10.0 c/r. (Each machinists came up with a different number when calculating.)

First photo with the machine shops dyno Holley. Second photo, my overhauled Carter AVS 4640S. (Just bolted on, no tweaking at this point.) Holley vs. Carter overlay.

What's up with the A/F ratios? The Holley looks dead lean and the Carter is approaching pig rich.

What cylinder head?

Kevin
He had multiple screen shots for the Holley, that just happened to be the one I took a photo of. No idea which run it was, I wasn't there during the break-in process.
As I said in my first post about the Carter, "(Just bolted on, no tweaking at this point.)".
Original 906 cyl. heads, some hand porting and slightly larger valves.

I’m glad to see the AFR that steady with the carter. A .003 -.004 jet change should put it right where it needs to be. Do you have any metering rods to tune with? I’ll be glad to send a couple different sets down.

Both carbs are pulling 1.8" of vacuum, I would have thought that'd be worse at the top of the rpm range. Both carbs are holding it back. A/f all crazy for both.
Those are numbers a 440" could make, but looks like some straightforward opportunities to tune it for the better.

Your choke point starts with the carb, intake , heads and camshaft. Neither part can keep up with what the 505 needs. Don’t get me wrong u have good numbers for what u have. Kim
