yes, this one is priced pretty high.
But prices are higher here due to many circumstances.
Most guys in the US complain about expensive shipping inside the US.
But we do not only transport it inside the US (to the coast) and then in a container to europe (1000-1800$, it also takes deloading (500-750$) and then transporting it inside europe. Customs and taxes, insurance and all other stuff goes on top.
In example a 6000$ purchase in Utah can turn into a 11000$ car till it is at your front door overhere. Till that point nothing has been done to the car.
We are not in for a big surprise. Old cars get shipped over since 40+ years. And of course they do get resold.
That is why the european market is not comparable with the US market.
Usually no european is expecting any US american to buy a car and ship it back.
i was thinking bout that some days ago.
For example, I have to buy parts for a corvette, parts costs me 60e.
Shipping cost me another 25e.
i do not had the choice of the shipping detail, i choose the lowest option ( more than 15 days ... ) and It appears that DHL will deliver the packages, they will charge me another 15e per package... i think it will be 2 packages.
Do you realize ? and it get worse and worse : when i started Us cars, i simply get on Rockauto, buy parts, get shipped with USPS ine couple of days and no additionnal charges. Now, for 60e i have to pay another 50e in fees and unjustified stuff if i am unlucky.
You are right on the prices, a 7000$ car turn into a 11000e ready to go car in europe a nothing done to restore the car yet.
7000$ buy
+80e money transfert fees
+2500$ shipping ( container harbour fees customs.. )
+ 500e to get the car at the harbour to your home
then title to get :
+ 60e for classic car attestation ( + 1 month if you are lucky )
+ 500 to 1000e for a title ( yes !! ) ( + 3/4 months if you are lucky maybe it mill be faster if the future because now eveything is online for titles so there has been a lot of slowing)
+70e for vehicule inspection
then you can start to restaure the car...
you can complain about the prices of cars but they will keep rising. time pass, less cars, high demand that's all.
Usually no european is expecting any US american to buy a car and ship it back.
usually ? never. why would they ?
I think it may occur some times for special muscle cars... but you still got the best cars or enough of choices in the US.
