not until I know he has a title in hand! Then Ill check it out closer, so in the meantime here it is.

That Imp you're looking at was on a heavy duty derivative of a platform that ran from 69 to 73. 74+ totally different.

I don't know they started in 73. I had the same thing with my '69 Imp. No title, but the registration. Is it hard to get a new title in NY?

not necessarily.
Assuming this guy had the title at one time or is a relative to the original owner, and the car has what looks to be the original tags on it i would take one and the vin number to the dmv and try to get a new one. He could probably get a lot more for it with the title in hand.

i wouldn't take the plates to the dmv. if they were left to expire without being turned in there could be a waiting period ,fine,or both. if the owner had the title at one time, he just files for lost title. can be done on the internet and as long as he has the same address it will be mailed to him in about two weeks. otherwise the best bet might be to file for a lost title with bill of sale. if the owner has a bill of sale from the previous owner and has had the car in his possession for at least one year, then he can file for a new title. next option would be to have the police confirm and possibly replace the vin. sometimes you have to read between the lines and be a little "creative" with these options.

Still no word back on this one , but some added photos. I've read about the front caliper and auto temp II troubles, Do all Imps 69-73 have these?
