8 3/4 with unusual mark on side.

Found this number (3Y15) stamped on the side of differential housing, has anybody seen this before or know what it means?

I researched the crap out of that the other day when you mentioned it and i couldn't find one damn thing about it.
I'll bet the numbers Nazis over at Moparts can tell you.
They'll probably also debate for the next three pages on whether it's the correct font or not...

Assembly line markings. SO at a glance they would know what it is, and what it was for. Might also correspond with teh build sheet in some way. Like Stan said the number crunchers over on Moparts would probably be able to tell you exactly what it is for.
