I need to replace upper and lower ball joints and was thinking about doing it myself. Has anyone done them on their own with just jack stands? Also, does anyone know of a good brand or is there a kit I can buy? I've seen the kits on ebay but I do not know the quality of them. Will I need any special tools?

I most recently scoured the Universe on the low down on what's out there for lower ball joints on these cars.
When all was said and done I used the Rare Parts lower priced ones (~$125?) . My use doesn't justify paying more. In almost any other case, I would have gone with their more expensive ones (~%200?).

My Spidey Sense is tingling about that one. I'd like to know if anyone has bought a new Rare Parts LOWER BALL JOINT for a 65 - 68 C-body for 83 bucks!

Thanks for the help. How difficult is it to these by yourself with jack stands? Are there any special tools I would need?

To do them you can do it on Jack stands. You do need the ball joint removal socket for the uppers....the bottoms are bolt ons

Actually I did just this summer, because the price was so good. They look like the real deal too. I didn't need them, so they're in the war chest right now.
