Best place to buy a PCM

What are your symptoms when you turn the key to on? I got nothing, no fuel pump buzz, no clicks from under the dash, just nothing. But I had radio, lights, etc., just nothing to do with starting.
It was weird after installing the new/used unit in mine. I turned the key to on and got all the usual sounds, crossed my fingers, hoped for luck and turned the key.
Crank, crank, crank, cranked longer then usual with no start, but as soon as I released the key, it ran. That, I can't figure out why it did that? Maybe it was learning a new vehicle? What a big sigh of relief it was to have it fixed.

Mine runs fine. Just the check engine light is on. Has a P0601 code. I picked up the new PCM tonite so I’ll installed it tomorrow

hope thats it , i can't find myself driving anything new than a 75 here in calif . with smog requirements getting tighter n tighter here , in 2020 we are going to see a bunch of vehicles band by dmv from being reg'd in calif . just like calif did to the older semi trucks .

I do too. It was my only option. I bought a new gas cap as well so I’m well over the $200 minimum repair cost to get an exemption from the NC DMV. Only problem is that’s only avaliable one year. If I don’t have it fix by the following year I’ll have to sell to someone.

A couple months ago I looked at a few used small pick ups. Some Colorado’s, Frontiers & Rangers. I found a clean silver 4 door Frontier with 4x4 , auto trans, ac, good tires & a hard tonneau cover. 60 some thousand miles. $17 thousand. I’m friends with the dealership manager. I could have got it for 16 Grand. Maybe I should have bought it but my van runs so good & is paid for.

Not exactly sure when the cut off is. The next county over it would be legal.

its a population thing , there is countries were only a few live , they don't require smog checks . just a po box mailing address gets you in . could your issue be handled that way ?

I doubt it. I already got a new PCM anyway.

Just installed the new reman PCM. Cut the switch on & the dash lights up but no start. Checked connections & same thing. Cut switch on a third time & I heard a click & the check engine light came on. It was not on the other two tries. So it started up & the check engine light went off as expected since I had disconnected the battery. Runs fine. So I’m going to go drive it some. I’m sure it needs to read everything before I can put a code scanner on it

Drove it around town a bit. Everything seems fine. So I’ll head off to work in it Wednesday. I sure hope this is over.

I will take 2 complete drive cycles for the light to come back on if there is a fault detected. If there is a fault it would be stored in the pending codes and can be read now. Your bud has a scanner, I would check it now and then drive the heck out of it.

Well I have been driving the van all week with no problems. Yesterday afternoon my neighbor put his code reader on it. All code clear except emmisions code that was still pending. No reading on it yet. Steve said to take it down to the inspection place & since the light was out that he felt sure they would pass it. So the plan was to take it down early this morning. So this morning I got in the van. Turned the key & no start. Dash lights on except the check engine light. All the accessories working. Radio. Everything. Suspicious the check engine light not illuminated with switch on. So I installed the old PCM. Van started right up. So I took the Autozone PCM back & orderd another. I have no choice. I had put 101 miles on the new PCM waitress no for it to read all the codes & clear. I have no chance of getting my inspection done in time now. And have dealing with this for 14 days now. Over a stupid memory code. This is BULL—— !

bob , its just to new . drag out an old b series van and replace the whole thing . sorry to say the new mopars are just not worth the repairs , at least to me .
