Happy Birthday to the base player & song writer Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones. WOW he's 80. He wrote the popular song "cant get no satisfaction" and others.

At his party in London was these three characters. Legends in their own right. Van Morrison " brown eye girl " & "moondance" , Mick Hucknall from the band Simply Red & Robert Plant lead singer of Led Zepplin

Ok sorry guys I was at a track in Virginia all day yesterday. The photo I got off of Facebook. I did not recognize the guy n the middle at first (from the band Simply Red) so I clicked on the media link. It was early in the morning & perhaps I misread. I'm sure I read that he wrote the song, but now can't find that link. So I did the Google/Wickipedia stuff. And true Keith Richards came up with the basic track during his sleep. Woke up & recorded it on a cassette player. Fell back asleep after only 8 bars. He showed/played it for Mick Jager who added lyrics. Later drummer Charlie Watts added drum base & rythem. And Bill then added base guitar tracks to what the other three had already done. Richards didn't like the song. Saying it was too simple & the guitar intro (which he wrote was not sophisticated enough) Well according to the story I got Watts & Wyman did like it & where able to convince Jager to recorded it. So I supppose the writer of the media articale (music insider) gave Wyman credit for the song based on his base tracks & support for the song to be recorded. Sounds like Richards didn't want much to do with it. So if I can find that link I'll cut & past it for you guys to read.

A year or so ago CNN was airing a series of shows devoted to the decades. The first set of the shows that I watched was "The 60's". One of those episodes featured music from the 60's.
There was a young, fresh faced Mick Jager on their first tour of the US. He basically said - hey we are having fun and getting all sorts of girls, I expect we will be done and out of the business in two years or so!!!

I despise the Stones and almost every song they ever made. My wife however loved the Stones since before we met 34 years ago. ... I deal with it.
