I am eventually going to remove the left rear quarter panel off of my 68 Newport parts car for my other 68 Newport convertible. I would like to find a diagram of where the factory spot welds are, and how they go together. I would also like to get the names of the part, as in trunk extension, wheelhouse, support brackets,etc.:sSig_thanks:

I'll snap a couple pics out of the '68 parts book for you but even that may not give you everything you're looking to find out. The spot welds are around the perimeter of the entire panel wherever its attached to an adjacent panel. where the quarter meets another flush surface panel such as the rocker and the roof, the spot welds are under a lead filled valley where the two panels meet.

Here's the coupe & vert..

You are welcome Dave! Those pics are from the pages of the 1968 Mopar parts book. It has every part that Ma Mopar used that year including part numbers and pictures. I think its my favorite book, I laughed, I cried....

1. Buy Car
2. Buy Factory Parts Book
3. Buy Factory Service Manual
4. Start working on car
5. Locate fun forum

That is the propper order.

Or just let the guy that's enabling everybody to not have to buy the book keep doing what he's doing....
I got a great deal on mine and its in very nice condition. I think I paid $80 for it from one of the long timers over on FBBO several years ago.

They are also posted online. I found a '67 parts book on... My Mopar or something, I think. I should start printing out pages gradually as I need them, kind of like I'm doing with my FSM.

I do like having the hard copy though...

So do I.

I like having both. What's nice about the electronic copy is you can print out just a couple pages you need for shop use. Write notes, get them dirty etc.
