story for another thread. any metro detroiter may know that building in the background. none other than 1300 Beaubien, police HQ site since the 1920's; in downtown Detroit. It's a architecturally stunning Alberta Kahn building and somebody will save it. OTOH, and REALLY a different topic -- some local residents remember "Tactical Mobile Units". If you study or lived through the history, (principally 60's and 70's) these TMU's we at the heart of the Detroit riots as well as the lead up (from 1965) to that whole environment.
