Well last Wednesday was my one day off...worked 80+ hours this last week. Anyway I needed a new pair of sunglasses and though I'd give Walmart a try...really hate going there but sometimes I do.

So I decided to load my daughters into the Ol' C-body wagon and cruise on down. I turned into the back entrance to the parking lot, which is shared by the Homedepot as well, and I hear a car alarm going off. This in itself is not too strange but at this moment a sketchy character darts out in front of me carrying a bag and looking around nervously. I decide to follow him through the parking lot slowly..I see him rummaging through the bag as he was walking, and he kept looking back towards the car alarm in the other lot. He also tried to get into a couple other cars during his circuit through the lot.

He was nearing the far back corner of the lot, near where the walmart employees take there breaks, when I hear a car coming that direction very quickly...motor racing, tires squealing. The guy looked back, freaked out, dropped the bag he was caring and started to run. A little ford ranger came racing up and a 60 year old guy darted out and started after the guy. At this point I decided I needed to try and help get this guy. SO I told the girls to hold on and raced out of the walmart parking lot and tore up and around the store to where I figured the two would be coming out.

As I came racing up the street I told the girls to keep an eye open for the guy. We saw the old guy winded on the sidewalk and across the street is a big dirt lot where commercial trucks park...we spotted the guy in between a couple trucks. I came tearing into the lot right in front of the trucks where he was, slammed on the breaks and tossed the car into park and jumped out and ordered the guy to stay right where he was and don't move. Guess my 6'8" and 275 frame made a bit of an impression because he put his hands up right away and said he wouldn't move.

The guy was wearing a fanny type pack around one should then down around his torso so I grabbed him by the shirt and that strap and held him from behind until the cops arrived to arrest him. I didn't notice right away but he was wearing a big knife on his right hip, and after the arrest the cops found a couple sticks of dynamite in his pack!! Cops thanked me profusely for my help, and said they wish more people would take action to help stop these pieces of low life trash.

It was a great feeling to catch this lowlife douche nozzle...small payback for the stuff the wife has had stolen from her car. Kids were thrilled about all the action and stuff and said it was the best "Daddy Day" EVER!!

Yeah Man, way to go! How old do you think this guy is that stoled the bag?

Good job!

I guess it won't be hard to find you at Carlisle next year.

Thankl for the kind words guys....Just did what I felt was right at the time.

The guy looked to be late 20's maybe early 30's. He had a very "normal" look about him...not the drugged out cracky look. If he had just walked calmly, and without all the paranoid movements, he might have gone un-noticed.

Great story, thanks for posting it.
