Umm and you were only 20 min away from me today???

Came home to a puddle of diff oil under my rear passenger wheel...just when I got it ready for cruising....

@BigJohn what do I need to know about replacing inner axle seal???

Beautiful shots. When did you mount the tach on the hood?

last night after l had the shocks and exhaust done....just couldn't hold off any longer...that dam tach was goin on a fury one way or other lol...now l just need to tie down Graham long enough to help me upgrade to electronic ignition and hook the tach up...got alotta comments on the car today and a invite to a August car show...car gets alotta attention

It's not a big deal.. If you don't touch the adjuster, it should be pretty close to the right end play when you put it back in. The FSM should show the procedure.

I needed to replace the rear bearings in mine a few weeks ago. Given the state of my neck and back, and I don't have easy access to a press anymore, I farmed the job out... $225 in labor well spent.

Damn I miss driving those mountains. Took my 68 from Vancouver to Montreal in 04. I remember coming down into Calgary like it was yesterday. Stunning ride.

Alright .. I've officially poured through this thread 5 times over since I joined FCBO. The work, dedication and results on this car are friggin' A-1.

Hats off, Critter. That's one fine ride!

I've studied the FSM thoroughly and I think I've got the procedure understood. The adjuster was my biggest worry....

@CanCritter I'll hopefully be available Monday for the ignition upgrade

Some stiff paper to wrap around the splines and slide through the seal.

I've read about that - the FSM talks about a thin shim style tool but the paper idea makes sense...replacing the flange gaskets at the same time as well.
