Differential

Need model.

Mopar highway gears with Automatic cars are tall like 2.76.

Heavy duty 1/2 ton truck and van/p'up/performance applications gearing 3.55, 3.91, those are the choices for the 8 3/4" "dropout".

A really excellent diff, if you're not drinking the Ford 9" Koolaid.

Forgot about that one.

Used to be I drive around and spot some old early Dodge 1/2 ton van or pickups that hadn't run in years and knock on the door and ask "Can I buy the gears out of it?" usually with a cash offer of $50 met with wide grin.

I'd get my tools out on the spot and yank the "pumpkin". Sometimes, most, you'd hit gold, 3.91 Posi, or Sure Grip in Chrysler parlance.

If folks had a concern it wouldn't roll again I always kept a useless highway gear donor pumpkin in a corner of the garage to stuff back in there.
