I am a clock and watch guy. I especially like the old mechanical clocks. I have several clocks but have always wanted a regulator clock. I was at a customers home and was admiring his regulator clock. He said it was out of his dads office, and he likes them too, but his kids have no interest in them.

Much to my surprise he had a second regulator, which has been in a closet for years and gave it to me. It is in incredibly shape and is keeping good time. Until I oil the clock and find the serial number, the age is from the early 1900s.

I too am a Horologist and a connoisseur of fine clocks, nice pick. Who made that?
E Ingraham company. Everything is original except the face. I found an exact replica to the original but I my not replace it. This face was painstakenly done by hand and he signed and dated it 1964. He obviously took great pride in his work and his clock.

As much as I like old clocks....

I have watched my cousin keeping playing with the one he got from his grandfather (made in 1880 something) trying to get the the time set correctly.

This is the one I want. A modern clock with a precise innards.

I am not a "clock nut" - but anything mechanical peaks my interest.
Last year at a museum in central NY I got to look over an old clock that was used in the city's clock tower. Very cool, operated off of weights like an old grandfather clock (on steroids). Here is a pic and a few details about it.

I was the benefactor also of 2 pocket watches from my great uncle, when I was in my 20s. A theme here, his son showed no interest in them and figured he would just sell them. He gave them to me and it was our secret. This is where my love of mechanical watches and clocks started.

When'z the last time you cranked one to get the operator to connect you by giving her verbal instructions on who you want to talk to, or gotten a verbal fist fight with someone on your party line because that won't stop gabbing and let you make ah call? We've come ah long way in less then one life time yeah think? lol

Predictably as an Old Man With Hat I continue to wear a wrist watch. The requirement of pulling out a phone just to check the time would piss me off. I currently wear a simple battery operated ss Tissot. If money were no object one of these would likely be on my wrist since I don't need the chronograph feature.

Speaking of clocks: Cabinet Circa late 1700's built in PA. Dial circa very early 1700's built in France. Left to my dad from his dad.
