I’ve spent the last few months removing and refurbishing the accessories and repainting the valve covers and manifold. Used an old old container of ‘Calyx’ on the exhaust manifolds. Trying to make ready for car shows. See anything out of whack?

Thanks,

The only thing that jumps out at me is the alternator belt and 7/23 battery sticker, but in my mind those are wear items so I pay them no mind. What's up with the red cable? If that's a ground, I'd paint it black.

Looks good overall - nice attention to detail and I'll only nitpick because you asked us to! I second the comment regarding the cogged belt, as well as the battery cable colors and terminal ends. Is the distributor cap supposed to be tan like my '66 Fury 383 or was '64 still black like my '59 DeSoto 383? I don't know on the '64.... My breather on the passenger valve cover is turquoise, but I can't say that yours being black is necessarily wrong if they did that differently for a different year or factory. If you want to bump it up a notch, you can also order heater hoses with correct ribbing and stamped numbers from YearOne. Here's my Fury:

as well as the battery cable colors and terminal ends.
Battery cable colors are probably correct.

I have the original positive battery cable on my '65 Barracuda and it's black.

The original terminal ends were probably the flag style that I've never seen correctly reproduced. My solution is to replace with a newer style terminal. 99% of the people looking at it won't know (or care) and it's neater looking than a beat up terminal or the ugly temporary terminal (which is a failure waiting to happen).

@Toolmanmike had some solder on flag style terminals but I don't know as he's done anything with them.

Here's an A body with flag style terminals, not quite the original type, but close. Note color of cables.

My solution was to splice in a new terminal from an "off the shelf" replacement cable on the original positive cable (note color) for my Barracuda. I did this as the repop battery cable is stupid money (close to $300) and isn't correct anyway. The splice isn't easily seen when the battery is in the car. I like the cars to be "correct" looking, but I also know it's not a 100 point resto that isn't going to be driven, so it's a good compromise for me.

Haven't done anything with them. Here's a link if anyone needs some. Pardon Our Interruption...

re: windshield washer bag…

This ‘gramma car’ came without washers, with one speed wipers, and without backup lights. Competitor of Chevy Biscayne?
I had a 1976 Chrysler Newport that was bought new by my parish priest. No A/C, AM radio, crank windows... No frills Chrysler. Makes you wonder why he didn't get a Plymouth. He was loyal to the CP store (Wagner's Garage). Prior to that he had a 1968 Newport (which I never saw). He bought a Turbo Chrysler LeBaron next. He gave me the 76 as I was working on it for him. It had 175,000 miles on it. The dealer went out of business, and his last car was a Saturn.
