If you with a 360, and you want to keep it simple...
Grab a 5.9L Magnum at your local pick-a-part, add a 4bbl intake and an electric fuel pump, buy the conversion flex plate, and bolt it into what you have. That’s the same as a 300hp MP crate engine, with at least 100 pound ft more of torque for probably under $2k total.
