Ok there is a local guy selling 5 440s and 1 that he thought was a 413 but casting number says can be a 413 or 426 and the stamping on the pad is all wackey.on the stamping too me i see T 41 then below that is a faint maltese cross and below that looks like either 126 or 1126 so i assume 413 TIA 1217151657a.jpg1217151658.jpg

What's the casting date? I'm guessing the "3" is missing from the T 413.

Can't read the pic you posted above, sorry if I'm repeating what's on there.
T = 1963 41 = 413 42 = 426
I can't quite read the date either, if 126 Jan. 26 1963, if 1126 Nov. 1962. whichever it is should still have a 1962 casting date or a very early 1963.
I didn't have my coffee yet.

So what does the maltese cross mean? I've got a 413 in the shed with that marking.

The diamond is the only one that screws you for oversize lifters then you have to bush the lifter bores. By the rust on that block undersize bearings are not a issue

I never even thought to measure tappet bores before this.
Then again I have never had a block stamped with a diamond...
