Friday tunes..

Zepplin was ok the first few million times I've heard their stuff. I also forgot Pink Floyd, since I'm thinking of over played artists.
I know what you mean. One of the local FM stations actually had a "Led Zeppelin Hour" five nights a week, in addition to playing them in regular rotation for the other 23 hours.

They also played Boston and Pink Floyd way to often. They made me completely sick of Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", so much so, that I never want to listen to that song again. It was the only Pat Benatar song that they would ever play. I have some of her other songs, "All Fired Up", "Fire and Ice", "Invincible" and "Love Is A Battlefield" burned on to CDs for the road.

I still like Zeppelin, Boston and Pink Floyd, just waiting a while before I listen to them again. Maybe, by then, they'll sound fresh to me again. :)

45 years later and I'm still drinking (it is 5:18 PM) beer to Led Zeppelin as we speak!
Freaking amazing when you really think about it!

Rival Sons is a great band but except for the drummer there is not IMHO much similarity with Zepplin. I completely agree that songs like Stairway to Heaven are played too often and I invariably switch stations when it comes on. They have plenty of other great songs that don't get nearly as much air time that always remain fresh. Here's a good example...

The only song by Robert Palmer that gets played by FM stations around here is "Addicted To Love". There's a lot of great songs that never get played, except maybe on satellite radio. I've never heard that song before, but I like it. :)

Another cool song by him that reminds me of many warm summer nights partying back in the day.

"Blinded By The Light" and this song seemed to get played at every one of those house parties and parties around campfires.

I always liked this song and the title track, "House On The Hill" as well.

Another cool song that never got enough air play IMO.

These guys had some great songs, "Day After Day", "Baby Blue" and this one. Def Leppard did a good cover of this one.

There's just something about the music of that era. Lots of memories too. :)

It's been years, maybe decades, since I've heard that Don McLean song. Nice song.

Another song that was in my tape case back then.

This song is kinda cool. "Remember My Name" and "Woman" are a couple of their other songs that are worth checking out, IMO.

A Southern Rock classic. The Minglewood Band does a cover version of this song with their own unique twist. "There Goes Another Love Song" is also one of my favorites.

That's excusable, as Long as it doesn't hang on your wall.
