Hi from North Bay Ontario.
Just picked up a 66 Chrysler 300
Convertible 4 spd.
Looking forward to seeing some more C bodies and sharing info.

Any more pics you could share? I've never seen a 4-speed 66 300 before but I know it was available.

Absolutely stunning car! We will definitely need to see more and hear more details.:welcome:

Sure I have a few pics of it.
I have it parked inside a garage now the weather has been very bad here in the last week snow, hail and heavy rain. I’ll get some pics under the hood, the trunk and under carriage it’s in remarkable shape.

Thanks.
Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about the car. It came up for sale on kijiji. I’m in Northern Ontario the car was in Southern Ontario . What I do know is the same fellow had this car for 30 years, he passed away 3 years ago his wife had it in her father’s garage and she decided to sell it. He was selling it on her behalf and he isn’t a car guy so he didn’t know much about it. I replied to it minutes after it was posted. Luckily I had a guy I know that lives 20 miles from where the car was parked and he IS a car guy and knows what to look for. I bought it based on his feedback.
And when it arrived here it was better than I expected. The fellow selling it told me he received countless replies after I did from all parts of North America so he’s glad I decided quickly to buy it.
I’m a sucker for 4 speeds , white interior and drop tops and this had it all so when it came up I knew I had to have it.

And it was originally an automatic but I think 440 with dual exhaust.

Here’s the fender tag.

I'm not sure if the decoder is out of whack or your fender tag is not original to your car. For instance, the 'BDY' code for a convertible should be 'CM27' - yours is 'CM23'. I'll see if I can find another decoder to verify the other codes. . .

Good catch Rip, that’s not a convertible tag. That inner fender is a bolt on item and might be a replacement from another car, they are commonly rusty.

I just uploaded a pic of the VIN. Maybe it gives more info.
Thanks

Would they have put disk brakes on the front for a 440 car? I think in Canada it was required with that engine yes?

Is there any trace of paint on the fender tag?

I can’t see any paint on the tag but as someone else mentioned those tags rust and this tag may have come from a different car I know that in the past people swapped out tags for insurance purposes too because in my part of the World insurance prices for convertibles was quite a bit more for a policy. The car has drum brakes. I did upload a picture of the VIN perhaps it has more information on it that someone in the know would be able to share.
Tganks

VIN is CM27G63162345

the 2 is 2 door
the 7 is convertible

G is engine code = 383 V8 two-barrel

6 is model year = 1966

3 is plant = Jefferson Ave (Detroit)

(I thought all convertibles were built in Windsor?)

62345 is serial number (should this also appear on fender tag?)
