Ive pulled the rest of the trim off my 67 polara but the hockey sticks seem too have a different type of clip holding the on. Any tips on removing them? TIA

Not sure but did you check for a fastener on the inside of the quarter? Some dodge models used this style. Nice Polara BTW.

there are definitely studs and the tin nuts on this piece, you have to remove the interior panels.
If you want a good solid installation once it is done, you should be replacing everything with the kit shown above

That is a nut covered with sealant. Just peal off the sealant to expose the flats. Should be 5/16ths.

Actually that is a clip similar to this

You can see the centre dowel in his picture spreading out the four "legs" of the clip'. These plastic clips could be very brittle, so caution is advised.

Are we looking at the same photo? His photo shows an inside view of his quarter panel with spatter paint and a green enclosed nut with sealant surrounding it. It worked as you see no rust around it. I've removed many of them. The nut holds the stud from the clip in the trim panel.

I think we are looking at the same picture. I may be wrong, but I still see it as one of this style. I am sure we will find out soon.

Ok it does look like a plastic peg coming threw and spreading 4 plastic prongs. Ive tried sliding a plastic scraper behind the trim to pop it off the clips like i did on the rest of the trim on doors and front fenders but no luck. You guys are lots of help and i appreciate.

VERY gently pry at the point of attachment, once you have determined the location of that mounting clip. You can also punch at the rear of the clip. Either way, much care and patience is required.

I use a tool that is actually designed to remove the C-clip that holds interior door handles and window cranks on GM vehicles for something like this. On mine, I have flattened out the outer lips so that the tool slides right in behind the trim piece. Use a light prying motion back and forth until you feel the retainer come out. Removing as much of the goo and hardened undercoating/insulating material around the rear of the fastener helps the process a lot. Plus, I can still use it for the intended purpose!

Until you can see the topside of the clip and do a comparison, I wouldn't count on repops. Save the originals if you can. For shits and giggles, see if you can push the dowel back out far enough without dimpling the trim to possibly get one off. Depending on the size, you may well be able to find a suitable one like the type of clip in post #4.

Tink it does have 2 of that style at the back end.20151017_160819.jpg

Instead of pulling interior to get the clips off i just drilled a 5/64 hole 1/8" deep into center of the dowels and threaded a sheetrock screw about 2 threads deap and pulled on screw and they came out with no problems.20151017_160825.jpg
