I ordered a vinyl cleaner/conditioner/softener combo pack from LeatherMagic, so I'll let you guys know how it works out.

A little update to this thread...
The vinyl softener from LeatherMagic is certainly a unique product. It has a strong chemical smell and leaves the surface of the vinyl feeling softer. But I don't know how much it actually did in the way of making the vinyl softer/more flexible throughout it's structure. I applied it several times according to the instructions, but even after doing so, I can't say that the wrinkles in the vinyl felt any easier to smooth out. Perhaps if I'd apply it to both sides it'd be more effective. But I'd have to apply it through the padding and that might not be such a good idea.
So I've shelved this project for now. I'm going to wait for a warm, sunny day when I can lay the whole thing out in the sun and let it get hot and soft.
