If you think formal C body offers are insulting...

Yes we talk about how C bodies get no respect...even worse for the FMJ & R body crowd. Not a lot of demand for 80's stuff drives the prices down so that when these cars are for sale they often sit on the market forever and some folks get desperate to sell, hence the lo-ball offers.

Which is a pity, because I've had great experiences with FMJ & R cars over the years.

1981 Dodge Mirada

fuel: gas
title status: clean
transmission: automatic

Text the 623 number to see the car, Text the 586 number (in pics) to ask any questions.

Sold new in Western Canada (not a salt climate) with factory 318 4bbl, HD suspension, 3.21 sure grip, buckets, console and T-tops.

One rust spot about as large as a dime, (shown in photo) otherwise clean with uncracked front/rear fascias. Comes with loads of spare parts, including a complete red dash, Tuff wheel, mirrors and the "shock absorber" needed to fix the pushed in RR bumper corner (bumper undamaged).

Stock under the hood except for newer Edelbrock 4bbl (factory TQ included). Desirable aluminum rims on good tires.

This car was purchased while still in Canada and driven down the west coast and ultimately to Phoenix over the course of one week last year (1800 miles). No problems with running/driving, but the wipers stopped working (plastic part that can be replaced). The owner then got a USA (Michigan) title. He flew back to MI and left the car here to sell. 139,000 kilometers is about 85k miles.

It's not a perfect car, but it's clean/dry and not missing any parts

I agree, the Dippys had a very serious "let's get down to business" look.

That's why we have one...this pic was taken in the fall after I had done winter prep and put the snow tires on her. You can see the frost on the car.

Concur and that's how I'd describe them. Very boxy and I like that in them.

not even europeans seem to like any of those.
I really don't see them overhere.
I know a couple of 78 Magnums but that is mostly it.

Thanks but I wasn't insisting :) That's a very sharp car and well worth it I'd think. I've always liked them since new. A buddy in the AF had one back when new .. much better looking than the competition.

Thanks for posting the pics and link. That's a very sharp car and seems like a great price to me. I'm curious why they put a tan dash in a car w/ red interior though. Did they all have that color dash w/ Red seats?

The car originally had a tan interior which was sun damaged. Somewhere, a parts car came along with a nice red interior. The (then) owner swapped everything but the tan dash, but included the red dash in the trunk (surprisingly it fits). It goes with the car upon sale.

cheers for response. It actually doesn't look bad at all with the Red interior.

Any of those what? Miradas? Diplomats? What? All FMJ cars?

No offense but when you say "not even" it implies no one here does either and I know some do although it's not Mustang or Camaro numbers .. not even C body numbers LOL but some do.

yes, any of those aren't popular overhere.

Of course there are a few people who like them (like shown in this thread) in the US but it is a real minority. Also shown in the selling prices even though there are not many cars to choose from.

For a long time C-bodies had a tough time in the US often used for demo derbys or engine donors during the 80s/90s/00 time. During that time many of them got shipped over already as they had a following overhere even though they were not so popular in the US.

But late 70s/80s Mopars are really unpopular here unless it is a Dodge Pick up.

"But I still contend the Mirada is worth closer to $3k, so it remains on the market for now. And obviously I owe the guy who's been sitting on it a taste of the money."

I'd bite right now if it were back in ol' Michigan. But then, you might not want me to, as I'd put into daily driver status...

I actually like Fifth Avenues. They've always been considered the "old guy's car", but I don't care. They're attractive, right-sized for daily enjoyment, easy to service, and don't need three acres to park it. Finding one that's not roached these days is difficult.
