I'm not a metal man but...

More body work. This time shrinking and stretching. Area where roof and rear fender join was a little "chubby" and needed some shrinking.
There was lots of small dents which needs pulling out.
It took a some time to make this but result is quite ok. Just a little bit bondo needed. Painter's tape is simple tool for checking body lines and shape.
Main " weapons " for this job in last pic.

Mika

Oh boy what a job, but now I think that rear fenders are ready for epoxy! Specially driver side was tricky one. First I was happy with my body work on old damaged side panel just behind drivers door, but then I realized that area next to it was stretched out . So what can you do, it's more stretching and shrinking! ....and it took some time...but now rear fenders ready for final sanding and epoxy.
Body is ones "pre" sandblasted and waiting for final one in and out (not surface panels, they will be sanded) and then epoxy.
I had old hi pressure spray pump/paint gun and repaired it for this epoxy job.
An other tool is spraying gun with pressure pot (with very large fluid tip) and it's for sound damping material called Noxudol ( Swedish stuff, Volvo use it ), I have 3 big cans of that for Baron!!
It's very effective material and I hope that it will give smooth and quite ride!
....to be continued...

Mika

You never know, maybe some sunny day !
To be honest, there's lot to learn so that sunny day is still far away...

I think it's a little sunnier for some. I'm guessing you need sunglasses at this point. :poke:

The quality of work you are putting out with this car impresses me with every picture.

Final sandblasting done, in and out. All seams and
difficult to reach areas pre painted with brush. Now ready for epoxy. Spraying "weapons " ready for the job, bigger pressure tank and spray gun with 6.5 mm fluid tip is for Noxudol. Also repair panels painted inside.

Wow! 6.5 tip, that'll lay down some material! Might as well use a firehose! Seriously it's looking fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished product.

You're right! I tested that with water and it didn't take long to empty the tank! Spraying gun was new and never used, only 50 euros in local "graigslist" but with too tiny needle and fluid tip. New fluid tip, needle and air cap costs little more than 400 euros!! Hope that works, but I did my homework because I called to both companies ( Ecco spray guns and Noxudol) and tell them what I'm going to do and they said you're good to go.

Time for epoxy but first we need spraying both! Don't laugh guys, this time this gets to work!
Two coats, first red and then white and then at least one week trying time and then Noxudol.
Before that repair panels must welded in place.
Drivers side almost done...

Last parts done (wire harness covers inside rocker panels) and repair panels welded in place. Now body is ready for Noxudol, hope that weather is good this weekend because my "spray booth" isn't water proof ...
Regards and have a nice weekend,

Thank you Sir! It's amazing how repairing old rusty metal return to be quality time with your self :D!

Yes I know, I did some kind of restoration some 20 years ago on a 1951 Cadillac. Unfortunaly I had to sell it before it was finished. I loved it after a day at the office to go to the garage and make my hands dirty..
