Well it had to happen sooner or later.....hope that front end has been beefed up big time...that 5.9l ain't a lightweight

And it's 10k overpriced.:BangHead:

' JUST NEEDS FINISHING" AKA I came to my senses !!!! Please buy it !!!

It's not what I would have expected, but I kinda like it.

I too like it for its creativity and perhaps technical skill to even accomplish this, or partially accomplish it.

Not something I woulda done with THIS car .. but I'm always cool with people pursuing their vision.

I'd be curious as to HOW this was even done .. OR again perhaps it CANT be done?? (I exaggerate but like trying to put that 5.9 Cummins on my Craftsman riding mower?)

It doesnt look like it runs .. like, uh, where's the radiator/turbos/coolers? Must be in the "needs finishing" part. :)

Here's a blog of someone building a Newport. I don't know if it ever got completed, but he did have it running, and seemed to be well on the way before he stopped posting.

I like it , why not is nothing wrong with a good old cummins twin turbo
charge this little puppy and she goes like crazy.
install some nice cop rims and upgrade the suspension and brakes.

There' s a few 65-73 Cadillacs running around here with various diesels in them. I like a diesel engine, I love 50's and 60's Cadillacs, but I'm not a fan of putting a diesel in these old cars.

The rear axle on the trailer is screaming for mercy
I wouldn't build it this way, but since its already there, it needs to be finished, by the looks of the booster the MC may be a bit challenging. A little plumbing and wiring. Ditch the wheels and stupid wing. Looks like fun. Id drive it, at least for awhile.

I disagree. I'm willing to bet the more common scenario seen all too often with these Frankencars.
A big hole in the engine compartment was left when the car became an organ donor.
Then they filled the space with a 175,000 mi. engine fabricating motor mounts out of angle iron.
Now it's "needs finished"

i see you have a view of this. cool. :)

sure i agree, vs a well thought out intention from the outset, it coulda went down exactly the way you surmise. the imp was pimped of its powertrain like a lot of other ignominy our beloved C's suffered over the years, a hoopty ram truck coughed up the mill/tranny/electronics, and 'FrankenImp" was born.

but, "its done" as barnfind said. at least it didnt get derbied. and my conscience is clear cuz I would NOT have done this and how it got this way was outta my control and none of my business.

but i am still curious on the technical front as to feasibility .. my guess is a LOT stuff which takes some real SKILL (like that SRT J Body in another thread here, and not just $$lettuce) has to be done to get this "right".
