It pays to ask

If I wasn't a Mopar guy I'd likely have a few Fords. Most of the Chevies are way too common for me to actually want to own one. As far as the post with the 2 black Chevies? I like the roofline on the bottom one way more. Probably the same reason I prefer a '66 300 coupe over a 7 or 8.

I am a Mopar guy but I like old American Iron in general.

I even owned two Fords (66 Galaxie and 70 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler) in the past.
But they always reminded me that I am a Mopar guy

Nonetheless I don't want any old American car to be trashed.

I've been a Mopar Man all my life but....my first project car was a 57 Chev 210 2Dr Hardtop. I have a soft spot for tri-fives. I agree with Will on the larger GMs of the 65-72 era. 67 Impala, Boat tail Riv, Catalina Vert hard to resist...only Ford I'd drive Galaxie 500 Torino or Mark III

There are so many that I like or love... Old Mopars really get me excited, but I could say the same for many non-Chevrolet GM cars. I wound up with chevies only due to price and cost of replacement items, I like the luxury items, which means B O P and many Caddies would be my preference to most Chevrolets. As much as I like many Ford products, the variety of drivelines that wouldn't interchange was a deterrent in my younger years, therefore I don't have any nostalgic connection to any of the cars. Up to when I bought the wife the Expedition several years ago, I never had a Ford driver... I had traded through a few as a kid, but they were all investments in scrap metal. Working for a family owned Ford dealer in the late 90s, I drove a Ram and refused to be parked in the rear acreage of the property as I had bought it from their Dodge franchise. They had a policy of parking foreign products way out in the field and firing those who bought from a competitor... they tried with me, but lost traction once it was known I had purchased from them and how willing I was to move the tool box (it fit in the Ram at the time).

My father in law owned nothing but Chrysler and GM until 2003 When he bought his truck brandnew, in January 03 No dealers had any of the new rams, the GMs weren't as good as they should have been for the price, and Kevin would never own a foreign branded truck. So Ford was the only choice. Kevin has said time and time again he'll never buy another one unless it's dirt cheap (like our $550 98 F150 that is used for plowing snow).Kevin wishes he waited for the Dodges.........but the King Ranch is what it is.

90% of the issues have been caused by or have been by the dealers when it was under warranty. They don't stand behind thier products.........

I had one nearly kill me when I was a kid.........91 tempo.....

you know when i leard to drive it was my av pic 41 w100 4 x 4 it was a weapons carrier before the cab change . but we cut x mas tree in the winter and holidays the shop got slow , so my dad and uncle and grandfather would cut tree and set up a x mas tree lot , i even sold , flocked trees , and delivered them set them in people homes , but i regress back to the area we did this was up in the sierra's near a town call sierraville , on this guys cattle ranch of a 1000 acres with a hill range on it were he cut his fireword . one day down at his barn he had just bought a wood getter as he call it , it was 69 or 70 full size chevy with a 4spd an the biggest motor he could get in it . he riped the interior out but one seat , it had buckets seats , took the deck lid off , well as he said , it was a firewood getter , had a posi put in it so it could climb the hills like a 4 x 4 , and bet that car to death to get fireplace wood to burn . that was the best use of a chevy i've seen yet . it bond to be there still , he would put the old junkers as he called them along side a creek so that when it would overflow the banks the cars would stop the banks from washing away . dyke that another great use for a chevy , right , lol .
