With a open trailer I can.tell you you can't borrow it to haul you junk to the scrap yard, guess you will have to put it in the bed of your $55,000 Powderpuffs pick up truck and the paint on my trailer stays put.
I'm old and don't bend to well so I'm better to sit under the car on the ground and strap it down rather than squeeze my fat.*** between the deck and car to loop the straps.
Just personal preference.

Open trailer = 20' (18' min), 5,400# axles, 10 ply radials or bias-ply.

Enclosed = 24' min length, ramp door plus side doors, 7,000# axles min.

Don't go too big or you may need a CDL, depending on the GCVW rating. Rules changed last year. The big-trailer horse haulers and rodeo cowboys are furious! They have to have the electronic logs and all that crap.
