OK... so whats the fail part?
How come all these guys paint the entire engine compartment the same color as the car and in gloss?
Kinda aggravates me, I've seen it a lot on A,E and B bodies.. do it right for crying out loud.
Hey Rip how's it going?
I don't think so but I've been wrong before. Most of my cars have satin black inner fenders, flat or satin body color firewall and rad support's.
Black in the engine compartment started either with or after the fuselages, slabs and before were body color and gloss - except they'd often spray some blackout behind the grill to make it stand out more.Hey Rip how's it going?

Mr. Wellborn does have an impressive collection of Mopars. Thanks for sharing
That's the way A,B- pre 73 and E bodies are supposed to be. The whole front section of the car not including the K frame is welded to the body so it gets painted with the body. How come all these guys paint the entire engine compartment the same color as the car and in gloss?

The non gloss on factory cars is bad paint.
If B2 is close to DD1, I love the color. Got my interior from a Polara in that color, and my Dart is DD1 under the yellow it wears now. Maybe I love or it so much because B5 got overplayed around the time I bought it.I personally don't care for cars painted B1 or B2 Blue. That is too light for Blue.
I do like B3, B5 and B7 Blue paint on Mopar's.
The Wellborn Museum is definitely on my bucket list to visit!
