There would be no difference in the weight of 77/ 78 seats, as the power seat mechanisms were redesigned for 77s. If you had earlier 74-76 power seats you would've noticed....big time.

Wow! It took two of us to man handle the 77/78 seats with power motors on the passenger side too.
 
Wasn't a one year only.
All 78 and up RWD Mopar 3 speed intermittant wipers.
R's, M's, Jeep. etc.

They aren't the same.....

I had one from a 78 Cordoba, different part number and constructed a little different..........and it won't work.

Not really cheating......I have a 1978 Chrysler Parts Book

I didn't believe they wouldn't interchange and I tried one from several different 78's and there just isn't a way to make it work unless you mod it to the 76-77 linkage and cams.
