And it was a success! Not only did it run flawlessly, brake as expected, and perform beautifully...it took home some hardware, too! We had our club cruise and show today (6/13). It was a miini-show at Pop's Diner on Rt 66 in Arcadia, OK that cruised to a fine collection of cars and automobiles displayed in four buildings, just a few miles away! From there, we proceeded to cruise 25 miles to the endpoint - another mini show, hosted by Brad Katzung, noted Mopar collector and someone I've had the pleasure of knowing for over 30 years. There, we had a grill fired up with the best burgers and dogs cooking up, along with a buffet line for the extras. All of this was set in Brad's 15-car collection of wonderful muscle-era Mopars and three rare-when-new Vipers. The early cars include a restored 1964 Dodge altered wheelbase car, a '66 Hemi Satellite hardtop (my absolute favorite!!!), and other B- & E-bpdy muscle.

We had award presentarions to wrap things up. They were awarded according to decade. I wasn't expecting anything, I go to have fun and hang out. We had a "kids pick", so the four girls selected convertibles - my '66 Imperial, and a Demon Challenger ragtop conversion! Kids dig ragtops!

Next was class. Mine was one of nine in the '60s class, so it got broke into two classes. I got 2nd in 1963-1966 of five. Heck yeah!

Lastly was the host pick. Brad chose mine! I felt quite honored, as his cars are truly spectacular and his standards are way, way up there! Not often do I fall speechless, but when he said "My choice is the 1966 Imperial convertible", I was stoked!

So, for her first car show appearance in over two years, she drove 119 miles effortlessly, got lots of great comments and appreciative looks, and brought home hardware, for that cherry on top!

From L to R -
2nd place mid-'60s

Congratulations on the wins Patrick! I guess you did not think you would not get 1 but 3 awards that day, and especially one from the show host. I bet your Imperial is your new favorite car out of that one and the Coronet. :)

Well, sorta. Picking a favorite of the two is like picking your favorite kid! But for right now, the convertible is getting the attention from me and the miles added. The hardware was definitely unexpected, and a bit of a morale-booster; as this hasn't been the best of weeks.

That’s very kool Patrick, congrats and well deserved!
