Finally off to the show... back still killing me... not washing the car again...
P7140089.JPG

From this point on the kids had the cameras... so no more pics from me.

However... I did have that one last score in the swap...

Noticed a box labeled "76 New Yorker"... when I started to dig through, the seller ran up and begged me to make an offer on the lot, bin included. I warned him I would just piss him off, he insisted... I said $30, he said $40 there's a power antenna in there... I gave him 2 $20s and was late for dinner with Jer and some of his buds from the 300 world.

I had to abandon this in John's camp area... @75LandYacht had a chance to dig through it before I did... he cherry picked some nice NYB emblems... which seemed a fair storage fee to me.

Until my shipment from Fastenal arrives... that pretty much covers my parts gathering.

Funny side story... running late(ish) for the train... I took a wrong turn and spotted an Imperial rear side marker on a white car... 74-75 by my guess... but I was worried I would miss the train and made a promise to myself to check it out when I returned. I drove all around a very "nice" little neighborhood next to the train station... finally I asked a nice young man with gold teeth if he had seen the car (I'm driving mine... so did it look like this?).

The plot thickens (perhaps), he claimed it was a white convertible and was for sale along the road during the week I was gone and must have sold over the weekend, because he hasn't seen it anymore.

I suppose I will have to watch CL and EB and whatever else to see if it resurfaces. I was relieved a bit anyhow, Viv would have killed me if I brought a car home after assuring her so many times I wouldn't. She never said a thing about more parts though...

For those who are curious about the auto train... unloading in FL

The ramps move sideways... they get the top and bottom in whatever random order they chose.

Had a pretty cool conversation with a guy who was traveling with an MG TD... He had a Tracheostomy plug in his throat and couldn't speak... but between cell phone pics and his note pad... we're car guys after all.

Just remember what Stan said. You can't count the miles on a trailer (or train) towards your total for the year.
I'm not keeping score... they will be small miles, and I'm OK with that.:D

You Jeff are now the King of Formal parts. Murray has competition. Where you gonna keep all this stuff?

Jeff, one thing... can you please take a piece of **** paper and clean the lens on your phone/camera? I thought we were in London for a bit there.:poke:

FYI, there are rooms on the lower level, they call them family rooms. Located above the trucks/ wheels

Murray has nothing to fear. That does bring up something I discussed a couple times over the weekend... My purchases were extremely inexpensive, but my trip expenses and time would have me right up there with Murray's prices if I was trying to turn a profit out of this. I believe Murray has a master plan which I really do hope involves a nice retirement for himself.

I did enjoy picking up many small items I didn't need and helping them find new homes where they could be used. Any $$ that changed hands were to help me break even on the purchases, not the expenses.

As far as storage is concerned... I'm working on garage shelving configuration #2000 and expect I will put whatever I don't figure out into the bus until I get a new shed.

Friday morning we all thought we were there... I was kinda proud I didn't pick up any water droplets... BTW, should I use the paper on the lens first... or recycle?

Missed a few pictures... I saw this Sunday morning... Kenny/78Brougham and I asked John/75LandYacht to help us out and he trailed us to the guest services where we gave them his name... It was a good sucker deal... I wouldn't let him thank me, "I'm the guy who screwed you out of first"

Then we met Dennis...3rd place... we all skipped the parade lap and had a small photo shoot of our own... If Dennis gets around to it, he had nice photography equipment... my camera seemed to be overwhelmed by the brightness, and I don't know how to adjust anything on it.
