Mystery car part

i was out digging thru extra parts that I bought 20 yrs ago for my '69 300 and came across this piece. Does anybody know what this is? Maybe a part for the hidden headlights? The brackets attached to the rod swivel around, thanks

Looks like throttle linkage off of a 1940's or 1950's car.

I don't see anything like that on my 69. maybe part of the convertible mechanism? Mines a hard top.

I think it's a release for a reclining seat back.

Thanks guys for the opinions on what this part could be,all the other parts in the boxes were for my 300 so I just figured this piece belonged on the car somewhere. But you never know, the guy could have just pitched it in with the rest of the stuff because he didn't know what it was.
Anybody want it?
