Greetings Everyone!
My name is Trevor and I am now the proud owner of 1966 Fury III. It's a project, to be sure, but has solid bones.
I've been a member of the forum for a long time but this is my first post. Anyway, I'm in Novato, CA. Same as the profile pic but here she is:

Welcome to FCBO from the desert! I love your Fury!

You know God is a Plymouth lover, right? He drove Adam and Eve out of the garden of eden in a Fury!!

The car was sitting for 40 years before a guy I know retrieved it (last registered in 1984). It has a 318 poly with 2 BBL, I believe 2.76 open rear, bench seats (believe it or not, this was actually a huge bonus for me), and... an 8-track player! 11" manual drums front and back.

It needs pretty much everything but the body is straight and all rust is surface only. Engine runs okay from a gas can but it needs a carb rebuild and a tune. Also, the guy who I bought it from is a Chevy guy and seems to have purchased or found what he thought were a bunch of parts for it but it's all LA small block stuff. He did, however, buy a Wilwood 11" disc kit for the front. That's going on later but I'm going to get it going on the drums first.

First order is brakes all around. Three drums off but the right rear is fighting back pretty good. Then deal with the fuel tank. I haven't looked in there with a scope yet but will probably just drop it and then do some cleaning.

Little oil seepage from oil pressure sender and back of both valve covers. Small hole in the radiator but I think I have on in my parts that will fit (I'm a long time A-body guy).

Stupidly, and it would seem that the car does not leak, the guy I bought it from appears to have left the window open or door open during our torrential rains of a few weeks ago. I think the carpet was already gonna go but this sealed the deal.

Other than that, the exhaust is cut on the right side just past the union (by a moron, it appears), so I cannot even fab up some kind of temporary muffler to be able to drive to the muffler shop.

I'm planning on having it running and driving by late spring!

Great car. That thing will be a great road car in 100% stock form. My dad had the wagon version of that car, same color and all. That thing ran great and would cook down the interstate like nobody’s business. It sounds like you’re going to get it going in stock form, and I highly recommend it. Even with the drum brakes. Everyone rushes out to hot rod these cars, but they are really fun as they are.
Travis..

Great Car!
With the stubborn drum, sometimes you can put a small screw driver through the adjustment slot of the backing plate to push the lever away from the adjuster and then use a separate flat blade screw driver through the same slot to back off the adjuster. Recommend doing this on a day you can be patient. Otherwise:mad:
