The car was sitting for 40 years before a guy I know retrieved it (last registered in 1984). It has a 318 poly with 2 BBL, I believe 2.76 open rear, bench seats (believe it or not, this was actually a huge bonus for me), and... an 8-track player! 11" manual drums front and back.
It needs pretty much everything but the body is straight and all rust is surface only. Engine runs okay from a gas can but it needs a carb rebuild and a tune. Also, the guy who I bought it from is a Chevy guy and seems to have purchased or found what he thought were a bunch of parts for it but it's all LA small block stuff. He did, however, buy a Wilwood 11" disc kit for the front. That's going on later but I'm going to get it going on the drums first.
First order is brakes all around. Three drums off but the right rear is fighting back pretty good. Then deal with the fuel tank. I haven't looked in there with a scope yet but will probably just drop it and then do some cleaning.
Little oil seepage from oil pressure sender and back of both valve covers. Small hole in the radiator but I think I have on in my parts that will fit (I'm a long time A-body guy).
Stupidly, and it would seem that the car does not leak, the guy I bought it from appears to have left the window open or door open during our torrential rains of a few weeks ago. I think the carpet was already gonna go but this sealed the deal.
Other than that, the exhaust is cut on the right side just past the union (by a moron, it appears), so I cannot even fab up some kind of temporary muffler to be able to drive to the muffler shop.
I'm planning on having it running and driving by late spring!
