NewYorker 1965 in Europe

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the "white" taillights.

Yeah, I know they're correct. I just was surprised nobody mentioned them.

I’d give it a Guten Tag and Bon Jour to be sure. Whew

Hello everyone,

I am considering purchasing a 1965 Chrysler New Yorker and would greatly appreciate your expertise in evaluating its condition and originality. The vehicle is listed here: CHRYSLER New Yorker VI 6.8 V8 345cv Aut. - PCH Automotive

According to the seller, the car was originally sold new in Europe, which seems to be supported by a small data plate in French visible in the engine bay.

I would be grateful for any insights regarding the following:

- The authenticity of the vehicle's features and components

- Any specific areas prone to issues in this model that I should inspect

- Your overall assessment of the vehicle's condition based on the provided information

Thank you!

Tomas
Dobrý deň, Tomas: Thank you for posting the pictures and query. The car looks beautiful. I have no special insight, but I was able to decode the car's VIN and Fender Tags. All data appears to be consistent with what I see on the car. If you are thinking of buying the car, it is reasonable to ask for all provenance, including ownership transfer and maintenance history. If you know the previous owners, they might provide these items and old pictures. Veľa šťastia!

I've seen some other 300s on the net with the same trunk misalignment.
It wasn't much of an accident to only damage the bumper down low like that. If it had been serious, there would have been a whole new bumper.

Misalignment can be considered a Chrysler staple. The trunk on my '70 is not straight, and neither was the one on my '84 Fifth Avenue. It's been an issue with them for years, and something that magazines like Car and Driver have complained about while testing Mopars.

At the same time, a light can fall off of a Toyota and C&D will write about the quality build, but a misaligned trunk of a Mopar? Horrendous! One of the reasons why I stopped reading that rag.
