I thought I would give a heads-up about this. When I got my '66 300, there was a "new in the box" Wix air filter in the trunk. I noted the number, 42041, checked it online and it matched for a 1966 383 or 440.

A few months later I was nearing the end of the engine restoration and dug that filter out to use it, and it's much too small. The 42041 is ~7-3/4 inside diameter, and ~10-1/4 outside diameter, which is about 3 inches undersize.

I thought maybe I had the wrong air cleaner, but nope. I dug deeper and found that the Wix 42043, specified for a 1966 Imperial appears to be the correct filter element. So, O'Reilly is wrong and in fact Rock Auto lists the wrong filter as well. Advance Auto and Autozone list the right filter but nobody anywhere near here has it in stock. Before anyone says stick with Napa, there isn't one around here and they don't have it anyway. Just an advisory when you go air filter shopping and want a Wix (made in Poland) air filter.

Seems like the old Fram number was CA127? Picture of your air cleaner?

From the Fram website. '66 300 383 4bbl CA127 Ht. 3.512 OD 12.813 ID 11.011

X-ref: Wix 42043, 42330 NAPA 2043

Hope this might help.
