Our 67 Fury3 build

Lateral force is takn care of with the adjustable panhard link. All the rod ends are opposite threaded so they can be adjusted, here is a pic on the 3mm floor on its way in, the setup out of the car, and the car sitting on the ground. In all fairness, you do feel the road through the car a bit more, and it also makes more road noise

The long bar shown in picture two is shown connected to the right link assembly, does he other end connect to the left link assembly?

Since the left and right link assemblies are clamped to the rear housing, what does the connecting bar achieve?

Does all this mean the only things keeping the whole axle assembly centered between the fenders are the shocks?

I'm not trying to be obtuse, I just want to understand the how this thing works.:)

hi fury 440, the left link is fixed to a big re-inforced bracket that is welded to the left rear chassis leg. it is very solid. none of the other components take that force, as i would expect the lateral force cornering at 100mph would be huge. I dont seem to have a pic of the bracket on photobucket, but im shure i could dig a pic up later today. The 4 link does give a whole bunch of traction of the mark

Some more progress, right side in 2k primer, left side in spritz fill ready for lines to be taped and blocked

yea mate, liquid bondo. spritz fill is a local slag term for it. the real name is ppg deltron polyester spray filler. Just really a product to make average amatuer work (ie mine!) look more like a pros work. I just finish the solid bondo down to 180grt, then spray bondo, and finish that to 320grt, then 2k prime, rub that down with powder guide coat to 600grt when ready to base coat, altho thats another month away. I will be putting colour on the jambs, firewall and undersides of hood and deck lid soon, maybe next week

just a quick update, here is some spies-hecker "smokey granite" in the bay and jambs. real nice colour, the photos dont show the violet and lime pearls in the paint. It is a dupont "challenger" 2k clear. Its actually a real good clear, as i usually get a few runs, but this has no runs and has dried looking wet. So im pretty happy,
