Finally got trans in, got turn switch in, ready for test drive, new headlight relay from 2 months ago appears shorted. Never a break haha.
Doors come open when turning ignition on and some headlights are bright, some are dim. Dimmer works, light switch works but cant turn then off. Try to find another expensive relay.

Sounds like a bad ground or a bad bulb (or 2).

If your headlights aren't working correctly, the relay won't work to close the doors. The relay gets ground through the headlight filaments and if one is out, the doors won't close.

Dont know now. Relay seems good. Left sie lights dim, right side bright. R/R blinker works but not front. L/F blinkers works but not rear. R/F headlights come on with switch. ????
Grounds check AGAIN.

That really does sound like a ground problem.

And remember that checking the grounds is more than just checking for continuity. The filaments in the bulbs are often enough to show good continuity with a meter. The easy and good way to check is a couple of wires with alligator clips... Attaching to a known good ground and then to the bulb sockets.

All were working fine before transmission but im gonna check bulbs and grounds again.

Fun day though. Trans was supposed rebuilt. I was stuck in 2nd and neutral the whole quarter mile trip with it switching between both. Got back to garage and it blew the dip stick loose and i got a quart of fluid on the manifold and pink crap on the floor. Think im taking tomorrow off.

Turns out all of the mentioned problems. Repaired 2 grounds, replaced 2 headlight and 2 taillights.
Biggest problems. Turn switch was bad so screwy brake lights and signals. Headlight sentinel had got turned on and created problems in garage hahaha. All fixed now.
