Just getting going on recovering my Fury after it sitting just over 17 years. With this I am spending a little time replacing stolen parts as well as repairing damage from some friendly squirrels that where living under the hood. Aside from a few hoses here and there I had the wiring harness to the coil eaten after the coil was stolen. Rewiring is not too much of a problem, but for the life of me I am at a lose on reconnecting the new coil correctly. Wiring harness contains 4 wires, 2 are for alternator 2 are for coil. I have alternator reconnected already. I now have the purple wire and blue wire left to run to the coil, well with the condenser. Unable to locate a book on this so any assistance is appreciated.

Failed to say this was on a 383 engine as well.

See if you can trace them back to their source. One should go from coil (-) to distributor and the other goes from coil (+) to ballast resistor. If memory serves, the dark blue one is the one from the ballast resistor.

Here is the lay out from the ignition switch. There is a blue wire that goes from the ignition switch to the ballast resistor and to the voltage regulator. There is a brown wire from the ignition switch to the coil side of the ballast resistor then on to the coil. so you should have a blue wire going into the resistor and then on some cars they continued the brown (by pass wire) to the coil and then on others they ran a blue wire from the ballast to the coil. It will look something like this.eliminate-bypass-wire.jpg
