Sick is as Sick does

Lord: Bless this weapon that it may protect and defend me from thy evil that walkith the earth. May it not fail me when needed most, may it always shoot straight and accurate against thy foe, and scare my attacker into second thoughts of his actions.
I see nothing wrong here.

Wonder if you can do the same for cell phones.

Might not be the worst idea on cell phones, the number of idiots driving or walking distracted with their phone and getting killed will soon surpass firearm deaths. As far as blessing firearms goes, a gun is a tool like any other. If no one picks it up with evil intent, it will just sit there in the corner or on in rack and do nothing. More folks die from blunt force trauma in violent attacks than any other reason, fists, baseball bats hammers etc. Have not seen anyone talking about banning bats lately.

Another type of thread I'm blocking now. Getting fed up with all this crap. Time's short. I'm looking out for my wife, my cats, and me from here on. In that order.

Damn, you put your pets before yourself?

Reminds me of a similar item in a US Army Ready Room:

Yeah though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death
I shall fear no evil
For I am better trained, better armed and the meanest SOB in the valley.

The church, whose members are derisively called Moonies, has been accused of brainwashing its followers, a claim it denies.

Oh boy, what could possibly go wrong?

Oh good Lawd, I was wondering how long it would take... although I'm perfectly willing to debate the topic. And I promise not to use memes or links.

They are nut jobs and there is nothing new under the sun. So far at least they are mostly harmless, concentrating on raising money to enrich their founder. As someone far wiser than I once said "The quickest way to get rich in America is to start a religion". Hopefully they won't go down the dark road of mass suicide etc.

The news bit I heard on the TV was that the pastor was a gun dealer also, so I just thought 'go figure'.
But if true she'd have a license for automatic weapons I believe.

This kind of religion didn't end well for that David Koresh group in Waco, TX

There are different classes of gun dealers, to go full auto, you need to have a class 3 dealer and the buyer needs to have completed all class 3 paperwork, paid the fees and received permission from the ATF to possess a full auto firearm. If you jump thru all of the hoops, you could reasonably expect to be approved in six months to a year's time. When you finally get the class 3 item, you are required to present it and submit to an ATF inspection of the firearm or other class 3 item on demand without prior notice by the ATF. They do this to insure that the item is still in your possession and properly secured. Some local jurisdictions ban the possession of any class 3 item at the local level, some just require additional paperwork. All in all class 3 stuff is a bigger pain in the butt than it is worth for most people.

Good ole L Ron. Unfortunately, what he and Roddenberry didn't get was everything Phillip K. Dick did. We'd have been better off heeding his warnings.

Yea I'm sure the laws have been modified. The last time my generation was up on this was because the Fed's were going to change and tighten things up (1970's early 80's). Back then it was a easy way to get a 50 state CC license. I knew several that got it.
