The only reason anyone makes records is because they sell. Plenty of celebrity kids failed in music. Carly had 10 top 20 hits and a number 1 over 15 years. Connections don’t sustain that longevity.

Both are talented. It’s not an either/or proposition.

Who needs talent when you have auto-tune

Actually, you can be a triple threat of non-talent these days:
1. Auto tune your wretched voice
2. Let synthesizers mask the fact you cannot play any instrument.
3. Sample classic songs to hide the fact you have no lyrical/melodic songwriting skills.

Hey, it works for quite a few "artists" these days. Then again, there are some exceptional acts out there...

I'm bored I'll jump in...she writes her own music and lyrics, and sings and plays guitar, not to everyone's taste certainly, but enough people that they are fans who spent money on her stuff. She can't help it she was born into a rich family.
