Hello Chrysler friends,

I'm away from my shop manuals, but would like to order some U-bolts while on the road.
Does anyone know the "B" dimensions - inside diameter of U-bolts over the stock 8.75" rear axel and
"C" dimensions - length of U-bolt from inner radius to end of threads?

I'm contemplating going with a plus 1" set of leafs as well, curious if I can get support on that thought or advice counter to that idea.

Thank you,
Mike

‘68 Dodge Polara

3” inside spacing
5-1/2” from lowest radius to bottom of threads.
Stock springs with 1/4” wedge to perfect my driveline angle.

HWYCRZR,

Is that 1/4" lift (assuming higher towards the front) to pitch the rear end 3rd member up a smidge so it points more directly at the tail shaft, reducing mechanical losses?
Would you mind elaborating on that a bit?

thanks,
Mike

Since it is under the axle, it actually lowers the rear end a touch but points the pinion up. I added it when I was getting driveline vibration. In this case it tilts the pinion up a hair for better overall driveline angle. It is likely overkill as my issue was a bent/unbalanced drive shaft that would start to vibrate at 85 mph.

Here is the story and maybe some of the science behind the wedge.
Any no more vibration up through 105. (But my hood starts to wiggle and lift)

Drive Line Angle will drive you crazy
