You've found a nice looking GTC, congrats!
The early 90s was a learning game with Chrysler and their new solenoid shifting transmissions. All the data the computer used to determine a shift had to be perfect...any confusion and it went into "limp-in" mode. Most of the time a "bad" trans was an electronic issue and not physical. Used to see super clean GTCs/Daytonas/Spirits/Caravans littering the junkyard with a bad auto trans. The perfect combination was to order that dependable 3.0 backed with the 5 speed option (A543). It's actually not that difficult of a swap if you have a complete parts car. Good luck to you.
