A well deserved mention. Good job, Gary.
Ever notice the top designers were also the most dapper dressers?

Yeah, very nice to recognize and never forget the great ones.

Very iconic. Credited for Shell logo, Lucky Strike Logo, TWA logo, Coke bottle. Here are a few inspired designs:

As an Industrial designer, Raymond Loewy designed a great many things....these alsoraymond_loewy_stamp.jpgraymond_loewyhagley2.jpgraymond_loewy_soda.jpgraymond_loewy_pencil_sharpener.jpg

Google is commemorating this also with a special search engine pic; this morning European time it said 120 th birthday "Raymond Loewry", they already changed it now.

Don't wanna be the party pooper, but former employees ( especially Exner but others as well) claimed he did to most of the designs of the Loewy Associates company nothing more than giving the nod and harvest the fame, namely the Studebaker postwar design icons up to 53.
There was a good article in Collectible Automobile, but have to reread to remember the details. Not to put his work down at all but always take it with a grain of salt. Give me your opinion on the BMW 507 he personally designed for his own use.

Yeah, that sort of thing happens when your name is on the firms Wall. I am not a fan of all his works, but for the period/era it was still quite refreshing to see "streamlined" forms. However, the streamlined pencil sharpener is closer to "kitch" than real design....why does a pencil sharper need to be aerodynamic? To what purpose does it serve. While that might look visually appealing to some people, it serves no use other than to look good....my issue with Exner is that he took this to an extreme with some of his winged and eye brow wonders.

The *** end of that car is butt ugly. That's my prognosis.
