    Well not really Joe, I was the one that was too slow. Burning time on lunch the other day a was cruising CL looking for old dodge trucks when I happened across a 1967 Monaco Convertible for sale, only two pictures, in a garage. I didn't notice how old the ad was, but at the asking price of $2000 I thought that I'd go look at it on the weekend. Went to pull the ad today to contact the seller and the ad was pulled. Not really my dream car, but hey I can get interested in anything for the right price.

    Kicking myself for not acting faster, ouch that hurt...

    There's always another car that I want. I keep asking myself, do I need another project? The answer keeps being, NO. Too much to do on the cars I already have.

    Maybe missing out on the car is for the best

    That's the way I see it too. If it was meant to be it's meant to be. I saw an 86 Alfa Romeo Spider on the way home from visiting my dad on Sunday.... took pics and got the phone number. On Monday I asked Sammie if she wanted to go see it. She said not right now, we've got too much on our plate. Wait till we come back from the Lotus Gathering over the weekend. She's usually right and I see where she's coming from. I'll inquire about it next weekend. What will be will be....

    If you really wanted it, you would have pulled out your phone and called right then, barring that, at least jotted the contact info down on a scrap piece of paper. Hold out for your dream car.

    Have had that happen to many times. Useful tip; what I do now is anytime I see a very interesting ad I either print it out - or screenshot it and print it out later. Craigslist may delete the ad but you can never delete my physical piece of paper.

With that little Beast you need TWO TOOL BOXES 'CUZ YOU NEVER KNOW FROM ONE FASTENER TO THE NEXT IF YOU'RE PLAYING WITH SAE OR M.M. Early '80s Mother and the other US Auto makers started converting. Kinda like computerz fer us 'ole guyz, welcome to the 21st century! Catnip

    Not really a big deal just wanted to go see it. I was shocked when it was right in my backyard so to speak.

    Spider? uses old style 70's bicycle cables for the throttle, best to have a spare in the trunk I'm told.
    Goes through head gaskets like...
    I had to remove a water pump from one once, never again.

    Ever work on a pre 80's Cadillac? Most oddest sized and type of nuts & bolts. I was told it was done by the Factory to keep the car coming back to the dealers and away from the pump jockey/shade tree mechanics.

    :eek::rolleyes:

    No I haven't but that doesn't mean I don't have the proper size wrench or socket in both SAE and MM in my garage for anything Mopar or English or Czechoslovakian Crotch Rocketz, lol

    Oh I remember them well... I started my first garage job in 1985...

    Swapped a transmission in a Buick back then... 3 cross member bolts were 5/8, the last was 15mm... I had to do a double take...the threads were factory from what I could tell.

    Hummm? With my 1939 Triumph 350 "lunger" and my 1948 350 twin I never ran into that BS stuff. Guess that'z why I alwayz kept ah couple different size Crescent wrenches in the SAE tool box

    When Javier @73 T&C came up to Fubu County a few weeks ago, he brought his Citroen SM. He gave me a technical tour through the car and I thought, Man, this contraption violates every rule of automotive design I ever learned. He knew every nut and bolt on that car.
    Of course.
