I bought the OEM gasket for 90's Jeeps or trucks or whatever that someone here recommended as a superior alternative to the cork gaskets. I thought I heard somewhere that since it's slightly thicker you need to use pan bolts that are slightly longer. Is this true and how important is this? Thanks!

I used it and used the existing bolts. The gasket isn't that much thicker and all you are doing is holding the pan on.

Would it be OK to use the blue loctite on the bolts?
Sure, but I don't know of any reason to. I never have. Actually, with the cast aluminum threads in the case, I'd be hesitant to use a thread locker.

If you really want to use it, blue is as strong as you'd want to use. Red and green are out of the question... Although I have loosened small screws (4-40) in aluminum with red loctite with some heat.

Reusable rubber gasket from an A518 O.D trany is the way to go . If it leaks you have bigger issues ..lol
